We collect the following types of information:
- Personal information: name, email address, phone number, date of birth, address, and profile photo.
- Athletic information: sports, achievements, statistics (including physical measurements such as height and weight), career details, and verification documents.
- Financial information: payment and transaction references for fees and completed collaborations. Card and UPI details are handled directly by our payment provider and are never accessible to us.
- Device information: device type, operating system, and app version.
- Usage data: how you interact with the app, including features used and content you create, such as postings, applications, and messages.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and maintain your account and authenticate you.
- Display your profile to other users based on your visibility settings.
- Match you with relevant opportunities, applications, and contracts.
- Send notifications about applications, contracts, and messages.
- Verify your identity and achievements.
- Improve our services, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Profile visibility
You control who sees your profile through Profile Visibility settings: Public (anyone can view your profile), Connections Only (only approved connections can view your profile), or Private (only you can view your profile).
4. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with: other users according to your visibility settings; third-party service providers such as payment gateways and cloud storage providers, under strict data protection agreements; and legal authorities when required by law.
5. Data security
We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption of sensitive information (tokens, documents) and secure communication protocols for data in transit. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
6. Data retention and deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required for legitimate reasons such as financial and tax records, fraud prevention, security, or legal compliance. Any retained data is restricted in access and the reason for retention is documented.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate information, request deletion of your account and data, control your profile visibility, and opt out of certain notifications. You can exercise these rights through the in-app settings, by using the in-app Delete Account option, or by visiting our account deletion page.
8. Children's privacy
Account holders must be 18 or older. An athlete under 18 may have a profile only through an account held and managed by their parent or legal guardian, who provides consent during onboarding. The guardian's name and phone number are stored as the account holder's contact details, separately from the athlete's profile information.
9. Cookies and tracking
The mobile app does not use cookies. The website may use essential storage for security, session continuity, and preferences, as described in our Cookie Policy. We may use device identifiers for analytics and push notifications.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of Never Retire after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
